In response to the Mad About The Boy exhibition in the Fashion Space Gallery, London which was curated by Lou Stoppard I have explored the theme Between Genders and created a menswear story on this topic.

When I went to see the exhibition I was captivated by a photograph taken by Brett Lloyd in 2013 of 2 contrasting males wearing ruffled neck pieces. I used this image as inspiration for my initial starting point for my Between Genders photoshoot and with an image in mind I went out on search of a model to fit the look and street casted Chris Berry, a 25 year old film student from Yorkshire.

Chris has been styled entirely with clothing and accessories from womenswear sections. Arrayed in ruffles, silk and sheer materials all of which are delicate and associated with femininity, Chris actually portrayed a strong, confident male removing the gender stereotypes and breaking the conformist 'masculine' and 'feminine' traits.
