Fashion RAVEolution

Liverpool John Moores Fashion communication students collaborated with Morning Gloryville Liverpool event that took place on the 20th April 2016 at Constellations, with the theme of Fashion Revolution. During this 3-way collaboration I adopted the role of film where I was responsible for producing promotional videos on the lead up to the event and post-event.

What are we doing?

Through a promotional film I was able to explain the 3-way collaboration between Liverpool John Moores University, Morning Gloryville Liverpool and Fashion Revolution. I filmed the students working on the project and conducted spot interviews on what they where doing. I was able to effectively explain this project in 1 minute, using 30 + short videos to create a film that flowed well and had a consistent momentum. This was an effective way of informing an audience by creating a film that was short, fun and engaging, rather than lecturing the viewer.

What is the theme?

Dress code promotion video - filmed and edited by me.

Snapchat promo video

I created a promotion video that was posted on social media channels to attract an audience to the new Morning Gloryville Liverpool Snapchat. Using past Morning Gloryville event clips this video increased the Snapchat audience by at least 20 people each time it was posted making it the most effective way they received followers. Using clips of the event in this short promo video attracted an audience, as they where enticed to see more.

The Fash-March

I filmed the Fash-March that the LJMU students organised around Liverpool City Centre and put together fun, upbeat film of the journey enforcing a positive message and spread the word of the upcoming Morning Gloryville event. I filmed around 70 short clips for this video, no longer than 30 seconds each and pieced them together. Posting this on social media allowed it to be shared to a wider audience and got people talking about it.

The After Event Movie

Using 150+ clips from the Morning Gloryville Liverpool RAVEolution at Constellations. This was shared on social media and encouraged people to tag themselves and a friend to share how they spent their Wednesday morning. This film was longer than the promotional videos at 6 minutes, to enable viewers to re-live the event. The film I created could also be cropped and used for future promotion films for Morning Gloryville events. I wanted the film to tell a story and kept the rhythm going by placing them in an order that worked well with the background music.
