A short 50 second film produced for Diversity Now 2017 focussing on deafness in the fashion industry.

 

It appears that we tend to dismiss the things we cannot see when we talk about diversity. A total of 9 million people of all ages in the UK with deafness ranging from mild to profound - that’s 1 in 7 of the population. Frustratingly, It has been known that models have been turned away by fashion brands for nothing more than the communication barrier they face once their impairment has became apparent. We need to open up the narrow minds that are still in the fashion industry and make them aware; we are no different and will succeed!
